Artist bio

Creating kinetic sculptures which educate young people concerning future career choices and help to protect our Great Lakes for future generations. VanderVeen is President of Mackinaw Power, LLC. He led the installation of the Mackinaw City Wind Project, Michigan’s first privately-financed project, and founded the Gratiot Wind Project, Michigan’s largest (200+ MW) now under construction. He founded FlexSys Wind Energy, LLC now developing the adaptive edge for wind turbine blades.
